We'd get on even better if I could work out this 15-lettered word! I know it's two synonyms but no amount of thesaurus bashing has yielded anything. Any more hints?

re the Olympic Stadium, Barry Hearn was never seriously interested in Orient playing there on a regular basis. I think he was mainly hopeful of compensation. But now Bazza has gone and we have rich Italian owners, mass confusion over who is/will be manager and a team that has been utterly woeful at home.

As for the lot in claret and blue, they're not doing too badly!

How about S-P-R for the first part of the word?

Any hints for the wordplay at 31? The answer seems obvious enough but the Arthur Dent reference eludes me.
