I think I am calling it a day on this one. Have solved about 75% of clues. A few tentative shots at getting into the grid, but no source appears to be becoming evident. Presumably not solved those clues yet.
I think Dysart has gone to lengths to make clues more obscure than they need to be.

I'm with simonsays, the source is clearly not 'evident' and I am getting bored of a cold-solving slog. The garden beckons, much more rewarding.........

Woodlouse: Def is Indian leaves as in type of tea (darjeeling etc.). Slang term for boss written backwards.
Meursault: 10 across. Def is gave up (archaic). Term for Peter as in the Bible when the cock crowed three times, with first and last letters swapped. 11 across. Can't parse, but def is glory (archaic) as in how a proud peacock/turkey might walk around

Hi Woodlouse,

No, it just goes straight in.

Sorry, I meant to say that my previous post answered your earlier post number 25

Having said I was giving up, the source has just become evident, things start to make sense.

Thanks, we have seen the requirement in one type of clue to reverse consecutive letters, but still need more help. By far the hardest this year looking for 9 and 20 across

Thanks PKD. I finished the gridfill quite quickly this morning after splitting up 1D. Don't give up now, Simon :
Everything goes in normally apart from 4 entries which get split up (2 have already been given on here), 4 entries where OUT stays out, and 4 entries where ON gets reversed.
Absolutely agree with other comments, I still don't see the source (perhaps Carl someone ?) but can't be bothered. More work to do outside...
