I can't face wading through all the pages to see if there is an answer already! No 28, the winter sport, says it needs a 12 letter answer but the one I have, which fits perfectly, is only 11 letters long? Is it a misprint or do i need to think again?

Have come into the quiz late. Finished except three.
No 12 Can't find a single clue or hint for Chocolate cake to have with cheese covering (7)
No 47 ..and the county players are crestfallen. I have thwarted but can't make head or tail why.
No 49 There have been lots of hints for Machine fine linen cut by her majesty (8) but even with all the clues given I'm completely blank. Thank you

Hi pegleg
A further clue to question 12, start with 4 letter word for a sailor, then reverse a 3 letter word meaning a large amount of cash which will give you the name of a bird which is said to be a thief.
Question 47, a4 letter word for a county + a 4 letter word for players. The whole 8 letters gives synonym for the last word in the question.
Question 49, a 4 letter word for fine linen + a three letter word meaning cut followed by a 2 letter word for the Queen. The whole answer is a machine.
Hope this helps.
