Mooncow, I think we are both saying the same thing.

Hi friends - solved 90% of clues and filled in 80% of grid but hit a wall. could someone help with please:
- the first clue (Trouble...)
- diminutive person...

Separately, I've been setting Mrs. Triceratops an anniversary listener every year, and was wondering if anyone had good guidance on a good crossword software to use for this style. I've been building it in excel which is **hard**

"Trouble ..." - a 3-letter word for trouble (less one letter) round a four-letter pig giving a familiar 6-letter word although it's US sporting meaning was new to me.
"Diminutive..." - a 4-letter small person following a 4-letter word for ROI (less one letter) giving a 7-letter recluse.

And I swear it was autocorrect that put that apostrophe into it's.

Ah clear enough thank you. I was trying to put the pig one in 12ac which now doesn't work. Late enough in the week for a clear steer on where it should go?

It's difficult to say where that answer goes without giving too much of the endgame away.
