Now I am confused! Tart would have fitted in with what I thought the theme was, which is actually my own dietary condition!

I am stuck on 6a -e-e, which produces an extra L, and 6d -ro-, which produces an H.

6 A. Smack, ecstasy and dope coming from France (4) ?e?e

I got Bete, a dope in France. Be(l)t = Smack and E/Ecstasy.

6 D. That bridge covers a ridge! (4) ?ro?
I've got Brow, ridge - but that's all!

Sorry, for 6 Across, it could also have been Beat = smack. I did 'belt' because you said you had an extra L. I haven't got the extra letters.

Thanks Malone.

Belt would give the L.

For 6d I thought of brow but don't see how to get the extra H.

I also had Tart for the theme but couldn't parse. When I read it was Tansy, and looked up definition, it all made sense!

Qesue, if I am right with the theme there are two or three possible answers. As I said, I live this every day!

One starts with a specific 5 letter word (in fact there may even be 2 five letter possibilities) but there is also a more general 6 letter word. Which have you gone for? Is there a clue in the grid as to the actual answer required?

Tomsdad - the 10 words you need to find all have one similar meaning. I was thrown at first until I checked all the definitions. Of the additional letters it is split into three words with lengths of 10, 7 then 5.
