5dn "after date" = ad as an abbreviation.

17ac Definition is "Bloody saps", and remove I[mran] from a word meaning "khan".

36dn Look up "Fulham" in Chambers; fast is a verb in this clue.

I'm afraid I couldn't quite parse 29ac and 35dn, a least not convincingly.

36d, NOR, Fate = Norn, minus N, briefly North (point) leaving NOR, also an abbreviation for NORth (point). Sort of &lit.

I think.

Still struggling with 20a, 27a, 3d ("resumes"??), 21d (*lo*s) and 22d (*asses). Any hints welcome.

I see now that 22dn starts with an "r" : I was using the wrong definition of "genet".

I have a completed grid and have added the warning but have an impossibility in the top column at the 6th letter (the cell with the 6 in it) where the letter does not go with either an across or down answer but seems isolated on its own. Surely that can't be right?

Surely it's the first letter of the Norse god? I have a complete grid now, after realising that "resumes" was wrong but not sure that I can be bothered with the last steps.

Yes it is the first letter of the Norse God, but in the revised grid (after adding the warning) it does not go towards any word - the letter in front is H, the one after is S and the one below is M. All those letters fit with other words but the T is out on a limb! At least that's how it appears!

Is it one of the "singularities"?
