To be sure, there are fitting words that connect to the word "match", but I don't see any that also make sense with "Home".

Match as in sport, home as in a type of home.

Thanks, darla ... but having already considered those possibilities, I can't think of anything new.

(For sport there is the round before the final match, or a kind of Japanese wrestling. For a type of home I haven't come up with anything.
Just in case I looked up the two sport words mentioned above, but found no connection with a home.)

Sorry, daz. It is the former, and the reference to the home is in Chambers. The sense is 1d-detached.

Aughh! If I had only checked the online Collins dictionary, I would have found that meaning, which I now see is in plain sight at that website.
