Thank you all. I must swot up my Irish tales

I have A as the misprinted letter in 32D, giving Ace instead of Ice.
I reckon one of the substituted cells is in the central column and not in the right half of the grid as specified.

That makes better parsing for Gran y a , Kobnut

I have the quote and know the episode it comes from....but can't see how to get the 12 items.....are they in diagonals possibly?

Ah i think i'm on the right lines now ... i've found one! As usual making mountains out of molehills!

Help please ... i am 2 short ... i haven't used the "i" and one of the "p's" from the right if you follow what i mean? ( I used the p from 13d already)

The 'I' is at the bottom. There aren't many ps,just check them all off!
