I'm never quite sure whether it is an ego trip for those posting answers unbidden or not but it goes against what the site is about.

This user had been told this before and as far as I know was not a person who interacted with others here, which is a shame.

OK, if the person had been previously warned and chose not to comply, fair enough. I still think admin should name the offender and explain why they have been banned.

the title of the thread POSTING ANSWERS WHEN NOT REQUESTED would seem to be the reason. don't see any reason not to name the poster.
for instance, Mamya is always a bit near the knuckle, wouldn't we would want to know if she got banned?

I can't think of any reason at all why Mamya would be banned. She's delightful.

i'm pretty sure she once gave an answer when the poster asked for a hint. just saying!

I agree with rossim. If, on the odd occasion, an answer is given where a hint was asked for, then that is surely forgivable. It is not good etiquette for the poster to post ALL the answers to a jumbo crossword

I'm sure most of us have done that in error at one time or another.
We see the clue and don't read the preamble properly.
That's completely different to posting a whole set of answers which apparently this person did.
