The setter does not indicate French which maybe he/she should, although it is shown as a word of common use in Chambers.

My copy turned up late, so late to this. A couple of dodgy ones, I think.

3d Suitors hanging around old city offices (7) : the last letter is unchecked, and there are two nearly equally valid possibilities.

19 Taxi not available to return meat (5) : "return" would be more appropriate in an across clue.
