Very relaxed solve this week, a relief after the last Inquisitor.

Still missing 5/36 highlighted letters, but I'm sure they'll turn up.

I’m hoping someone might enlighten me. I don’t understand the instructions. I’ve. Only attempted one inquisitor before and that was with Lots of help from this forum. I look at it every week and usually completely daunted and walk away For some reason, I think I might have a chance with this one. Yours ever hopeful, callmeishmael. Hi callmeishmael. Each of the down clues has an extra letter. You need to remove the letter before solving the clue. The extra letter should be added to the corresponding across clue. The one prefaced with the same letter in bold. Hope this makes it a bit clearer

41 across is keeping me from a full grid. "Project in trouble, having zero revolutions as first" (8). The clue is missing an "E" somewhere. I have O..ER.A.. but could be mistaken? Any pointers gratefully received.

Your letters are correct. The last three are a synonym for "trouble" and the definition is "project"

... and that meaning was unknown to me. I was pleasantly surprised when Chambers confirmed it.
