Step 2

Consider clues D and I and the value of Y:

D cannot be prime and with its middle digit known has only 3 possible values, only one of which provides a value for Y compatible with a value for I. With N known, O must start with one of two digits, corresponding to the two possible values of U.

I have tried to follow your instructions and I have unfortunately ended up with the same value for A and D -- 793. Help please!

Step 3

Clue A requires O/W to be 1, 2 or 4 and because the last digit of A must 1, 3, or 7 then O/W must be 4. This provides the values of W, A, O, U and H and two possible values for E, depending on its middle digit. This will be determined by the final step.

Don't give up beulah--one of A or D is indeed 793. I presume you have already found the value of N ? I found three possibilities for O=NUN, with U being either 1, 2 or 4. NUN then could be 1-- or 3-- or 7--.

O / W turns out to be a small number, so A and D are not far apart numerically.

Bear in mind also what crosswhit99 said in an earlier post--
every lettered cell must contain one of the digits 1, 3, 7 or 9.

Always happy to nudge a crossworder towards that finishing line...

... and don't forget that as N starts with 1 (Step 1), then O cannot ;-)
