My apologies, I had typed in 'Telekinesis' and Telekinetic popped up without me being aware.

It's Psychokinesis of course but not happy with the clue!

Have just cracked the parsing of PSYCHOKINESIS!!!!!!!!
The key to it is at the beginning of the clue.
Notice there is no article.
SO Horrifying can legitimately be separated from Picture.

SO Horrifying is the DEFINITION (movement through thought is truly Horrifying!!!!!! Don't you agree

THEN the crypt ( where the cat went) is
Picture=PSYCHO
Family=KIN
EUROPEAN=E
Relative= SIS.

OK?? Pass the hat round

I had a spookier spin on this one Thea, maybe because psychokinesis is the supposed ability to move objects by mental thought alone, then the setter might be playing a spooky prank by leaving out the bracketed letter count and he/she has put them somewhere else in the newspaper as a means of definition. A bit of a stretch but very cool if so.
However, I can't be arsed looking for them now, goodnight all.

Just to let anyone know who hasn't got a copy, the (13) is missing at the end of the clue.
