1. electronic = e; companion = CH (Companion of Honour); a dictionary = OED; yielding ECHOED = copied

2. Complex anag (turmoil) of ‘perverter’s mind in’ – ‘misprint’ = REVEREND = clerical Chambers Dict).

3. not all = ‘in’ = AMMO = shells

4. sailor = tar; first-class = A1 = ai; cabin = room. “returning = mo(rat)or + ia = MORATORIA = bans.

5. Cambridge, maybe = shire; real ‘baroque (anag ind)’ = rale; ‘when found in’ yields:- shir(rale)e = SHIRRALEE (alternative spelling of ‘shiralee’) = A swagman’s bundle (now obsolete = ‘old’ in the clue).

Great clues Jolan, I was nowhere near on 4 or 5. (Once I saw that birth was in prohibits I thought I'd solved 4, but alas no.) Outsmarted once again. Off on hols for the next couple of weeks, I'll have another crack when I get back. All the best and thanks again.

I can imagine you setting a clue like this with the clever definition & anagram indicator.

Tony maybe you should consider "Tony's 1 at one"? I can't fathom it.....looking forward to seeing the solution, much the same as with Jolan.
