I finished this a couple of days ago, but I don't get two of the clues. 21a: Navy yielding to e.g. Napoleon in Spanish town, not a real port (8). I assume that Napoleon is the PIG in the ersatz port, but don't see the yielding navy. 18d: Intermediate class with opening page, prompt to action (7). What's the intermediate class? Probably obvious to Brits...

Hello Aristo. The Spanish town is Gerona. Substitute PIG for N (navy) and you're there.

Remove is the intermediate class (in Chambers). I'm not sure it's a Brit thing - it's a new one on me.

In Frank Richards childrens stories, Billy Bunter was known as the Fat Owl of the Remove, as I seem to recall!

I seem to remember from the Billy Bunter school stories that he was known as "The Owl of the Remove"
