3d Final exam one's working on in overcoat. (7,2 words)
I have everything except the 2nd and 5th letters. I can see the reference to the exam, also to a 9 letter coat, but the only definition I can think of seems to bear no relation to the clue.

I meant answer to the definition.

The answer is listed under 'exam(ination) in Bradfords. The coat is five letters, with a two letter 'working on', involved in, inside that.

It’s also in Chambers, but listed under the heading for the second word and a very long way down the entry
