The chap is a guy.

Entry was not as bad as I thought it might be; perhaps a bit of a lucky guess as to where the 11's went, but then again it's a 50/50 shot.

I found the same, Buddy. Couldn’t decide if I was lucky or not, but was running out of unsolved 5 letter answers and didn’t have one beginning or ending in an I, so I took the plunge

Yes, Jogamel, they are. And as I mentioned earlier, I couldn’t find a 5 letter answer beginning or ending in I. For me, that most likely put the clued 11 letter answer higher up, as its third last letter either begins or ends a word
