Please I need some help.
The answers to these clues are the names of London Underground stations. The names all seem to get longer through the quiz, which is why no.90 could be a 13 letter name or 14 letters. It also explains why 93 is either 14 or 15 letters.

30. Fairy’s farewell in Rome (8)
90. Hertfordshire place, losing heat, expands to this (13 / 14)
93. Where Jack and Jill went to school? (14 / 15)

Thanks for your help trevor. I've not heard of wheathampstead so it is unlikely I would have solved this one.

even the staff at other stations couldn't tell you whether the station was open or not at any given time - hence the game (no discernible rules).
i only ever got off there once.
