This has been a weird one this week - raced hrough the first three quarters in record time then got stuck fast! Anyone else had similar?

Anyway; 52d predator with strong teeth and jackknife (4) ?I?E
Seems to be DIVE but why?

29a Affectedly sweet and "chewwy" perhaps? (4) T?E? perhaps TWEE but why?

10d Performer appearing with others had cooker (7) C?S?A?D perhaps custard?

last one looks like costard,variety of cooking apple.

The predator is PIKE (as in diving = jackknife)

Performer appearing with others is CO-STAR, had is D (as I'd, etc) gives COSTARD = a cooking apple / cooker

The answer must be TWEE but explaining it is not so easy as the others. I assumed that saying "chewwy" sounds like "twee". I would welcome a better explanation!

Only a guess as I didn't get round to this one, but could Twee and chewwy tanslate to tree and cherry for the likes of Jonathan Woss and Woy Hodgson.
