Sorry, first one should have been singular, 'hors d'oeuvre'.

"Discontinue action over corset" (5)S?I?E.
The cutting letters are okay. please help me as i am not finding any suitable satisfactory word.

'Stays' just seems so correct. To stay something is to discontinue it and 'stays' is an old-fashioned word for corset. Are you sure of your letters?

Well, I am sure of the cutting letters. which are as follows:
1d: prescribed quantities of medicine(5)DOSES
2d: Our cricketing neighbours from south (3,5) SRI LANKA
3D: Not fit to be consumed (8)INEDIBLE

The 3rd letter from 1d, 2d and 3d form the 1st, 3rd and 5th letters of 11a. S?I?E. Moreover this is a non-cryptic clue. Pl.help.

11 across word may be SLIDE. It fits with the letters S?I?E. Slide has a relationship with corset or bra
